Job summary

MSA Safety in Cranberry Township, PA seeks a co-op student in Industrial Engineering to join our team. You will perform time studies, methods analysis, BOM and routing maintenance, and layout work using Google Sketch.

You will also participate in cost analysis and process improvement through lean initiatives. This role requires enrollment in an ABET-accredited IE program with at least one sophomore semester completed, plus strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, and proficiency in

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited BEng in Industrial Engineering; at least one sophomore semester completed.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct time studies to determine operation times.
• Perform methods analysis and implement improvements.
• Maintain bill of materials and process routing.
• Layout workstations and equipment using Google Sketch.
• Analyze costs and identify reduction opportunities.
• Evaluate processes and drive improvements.
• Lead lean, Kaizen, 6S and value stream mapping activities.

Responsibilities

• Time studies

• Lean, Kaizen, 6S and Value Stream Mapping activities

Qualifications

• Basic experience with data analysis, methods and graphing.

• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Tools, with a special emphasis on Excel and Access

Education and experience required:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelors in Industrial Engineering, or other relevant Engineering discipline, from an ABET-accredited program, and have completed at least one semester of Sophomore year before beginning this co-op rotation.
