Job summary

Hotel de la Poste in New Orleans seeks a part-time server to provide prompt, courteous service to restaurant guests. You will greet guests, take orders, and ensure accuracy of checks while maintaining cleanliness and a welcoming demeanor.

Qualified candidates have at least a high school education, 3+ months of experience, strong English skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced dining environment. This is a regular part-time role at the Hotel de la Poste restaurant.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of customer service principles and restaurant operations.
• Must know standard cash-handling procedures.
• Must be fluent in oral and written English.
• Must have vision and observation to read checks and observe the restaurant in dim conditions.
• Must be able to perform multiple tasks and follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Greets and takes food and drink orders; serves orders and accommodates special requests.
• Maintains attentiveness to customers during the dining experience; adheres to service standards.
• Performs opening/closing sidework and restocking/cleaning duties.
• Memorizes menu items and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations.
• Maintains cleanliness of restaurant, wait station, and kitchen service areas.
