Job summary

HTC Global Services seeks a New Model Program Engineer to drive the successful launch of vehicle and powertrain models in North American plants. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 4+ years with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • 2+ years solving problems with statistical methods.
  • 1+ years in Powertrain/Vehicle Operations or program management.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key gatekeeper for New Model Programs, ensuring adherence to processes and standards.
  • Manage pre-production build events to meet quality and efficiency objectives.
  • Oversee ordering, building, testing, and disposition of pre-production vehicles.
  • Execute the Pre-Production Drive Fleet Evaluation Plan.
  • Approve Product Development changes and ensure they are proven before prototype builds.
  • Lead build issues management and drive timely resolutions across teams.
  • Co-chair launch meetings and resolve part support issues for pre-production builds.
  • Manage launch budget approval processes and related activities.
  • Prepare and present weekly program assessment reports and risks.
  • Support senior management with status updates and proposed solutions.
  • Facilitate transition of launch teams into manufacturing plants.
  • Maintain issues list and drive cross-functional resolution.

This individual contributor will support program management and delivery across various launch phases, including issue resolution, quality and status assessments, vehicle fleet management, budget execution, and adherence to established timing.

Job Description

Job Title: New Model Program Engineer

The New Model Program Engineer plays a critical role in the successful launch of new vehicle and powertrain models within North American manufacturing plants. This individual contributor will support program management and delivery across various launch phases, including issue resolution, quality and status assessments, vehicle fleet management, budget execution, and adherence to established timing. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, effective communication of launch status and risks, and the ability to drive critical launch activities through successful completion. This is a fully onsite position, and the ability to travel is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key gatekeeper for New Model Programs, ensuring adherence to established processes and standards throughout the launch lifecycle.
  • Manage and oversee pre-production build events to ensure program objectives for quality and efficiency are met.
  • Manage the ordering, building, testing, and disposition of pre-production vehicles.
  • Execute the Pre-Production Drive Fleet Evaluation Plan.
  • Manage the approval process for Product Development changes and ensure changes are integrated and proven before prototype builds.
  • Lead the build issues management process for cross-functional program teams and drive issues to timely resolution.
  • Co-chair relevant launch meetings and proactively drive resolution of part support issues for pre-production build events.
  • Manage launch budget approval processes and execute activities controlled within the overall launch budget.
  • Prepare and present weekly New Model Program assessment reports, including program status and potential risks.
  • Support senior management presentations by communicating program status, challenges, and proposed solutions.
  • Facilitate the transition and integration of launch teams into manufacturing plants.
  • Maintain a list of issues and work with cross-functional teams to resolve them.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 4+ years of experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
  • 2+ years of experience with problem-solving disciplines using statistical mindsets.
  • 1+ years of experience in Powertrain/Vehicle Operations manufacturing, design, and/or program management, with project management or launch experience.
  • Program management experience focused on maintaining issues and working with cross-functional teams to resolve them.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized approach.
  • Experience with Engineering Change Management and Issue Management.
  • Experience demonstrating an understanding of processes and methodologies involved in bringing new vehicle models from development into full-scale production.
