Job description

New Graduate RN Residency, Medical-Surgical (Start Date: September 2025) - New

Position Details: 36 hours, shifts vary depending on unit availability.

Application Instructions: Please read the application instructions thoroughly. All candidates must submit a resume to apply. Selected candidates will be asked to provide a Letter of Intent and 2 letters of recommendation, preferably from managers or instructors.

About the Program: St. Elizabeth's Medical Center offers a comprehensive new graduate nurse transition to practice program, incorporating the Nurse of the Future Nursing Core Competencies. New graduate nurses are hired in cohorts, progressing through nursing orientation together, with individualized education, preceptorship, and educational days over 6 months to promote mentorship and experiential learning.

Opportunities Available In: The program is designed for nurses who have graduated within the past 12 months. The role involves nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and care coordination across the healthcare continuum, with accountability for clinical, educational, quality, and fiscal outcomes, following established policies and standards. Reports to the Unit Nurse Manager.

Requirements Before Start Date:

  • Active BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
  • Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
