Overview

Barnes Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. The facility features 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms, and four ICU rooms, designed to provide a comforting, innovative, and efficient environment focused on the patient experience. The campus includes a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path connecting to Millennium Park.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Graduate Nurse provides direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care, after completing a nursing program and before licensure. Licensure must be obtained within 90 days of graduation from an accredited nursing school to remain employed in an HSO in Missouri.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients and families on managing illnesses or injuries, including post-treatment home care and medication administration.
• Uses critical thinking to assess and evaluate patients' physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
• Develops and implements individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, promoting patient and family-centered care.
• Evaluates patient responses and modifies care plans accordingly.
• Participates in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and engages in professional development.
• This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe work practices.

Minimum Requirements

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
