Overview

We are looking to develop the next generation of retail leadership at Sprouts Farmers Market – a Fortune 500 company and one of the fastest growing retailers in the United States.

As you explore this opportunity within the Sprouts University Program, our goal is to bring in high-caliber talent and equip you with resources to grow your career. This program focuses on developing Assistant Store Managers (ASMs), who are key in assisting with the efficient and profitable operations of the store. In the absence of the Store Manager, the ASM assumes full responsibility for all store operations.

Program Details

• Start Date: June 9, 2025
• Locations: St. Petersburg, FL (actual store locations to be determined)
• Eligibility: Within one year of graduation from a full-time bachelor’s or master’s degree program (graduation between April 2024 and June 2025)
• Onboarding: 12 weeks of in-store department-specific training followed by 12 weeks of on-the-job shadowing
• Note: We cannot provide visa sponsorship for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

The ASM must be familiar with all store departments and assist the Store Manager in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and inventory. The ASM supports forecasting, scheduling, monitoring labor costs, and creating action plans for cost control. They oversee training of perishable department team members to reduce turnover, improve efficiency, and control labor costs. Effective communication with other departments and the Store Manager is essential to execute merchandising plans and meet financial goals.

Qualifications

• Obtained or pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (targeting April 2024 - June 2025 graduates)
• Retail experience or project exposure to retail industry
• Dependable with flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Strong communication skills and team participation
• Outgoing, friendly, and engaging with customers
• Leadership experience in managing staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
• Knowledge of personnel and financial reports, sales, and margins
• Attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Responsibility for compliance with food safety and health regulations
• Strong organization and planning skills, able to prioritize tasks
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., and stand for extended periods
