Job summary

Plaid is seeking a recent or soon-to-graduate software engineer to join a back-end focused team in Seattle. You will work on production-grade systems and APIs, participate in architecture discussions, and collaborate with product managers, designers, and peers to deliver impactful features.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, with a graduation date between Winter 2026 and Spring 2027 OR less than 1 year of professional working experience as a software engineer.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go, Python, Java, TypeScript, etc.).
• Flexibility across stack; collaboration with product, design, and other engineers.
• Internship experience writing software for a startup or large tech company is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Join one of our engineering teams and contribute to high-impact projects from day one.
• Design, build, and launch production-grade systems, APIs, and services; participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers.
• Learn from experienced engineers and receive mentorship to help launch your career.
• Analyze business needs to translate them into technical requirements and evaluate design trade-offs across performance, reliability, scalability, and cost.
• Implement and improve existing Plaid services or internal tools with guidance from senior engineers.
• Write and maintain documentation, tests, runbooks, and monitoring/alerting for sustainable software delivery.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners to test, debug, and iterate on features with business impact.
