Job summary

Plaid is seeking a recent or soon-to-graduate software engineer to join a back-end focused team in Seattle. You will work on production-grade systems and APIs, participate in architecture discussions, and collaborate with product managers, designers, and peers to deliver impactful features.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, with a graduation date between Winter 2026 and Spring 2027 OR less than 1 year of professional working experience as a software engineer.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go, Python, Java, TypeScript, etc.).
• Flexibility across stack; collaboration with product, design, and other engineers.
• Internship experience writing software for a startup or large tech company is a plus.

We’re architected around decoupled services. You could be working on our internal distributed systems framework that holds them all together, or building out the newest version of our API. Most of our back-end core systems are written in Go, but that's not a prerequisite. We pick the right tool for the job and have systems in Go, TypeScript, and Python.

• Collaborate with engineers and cross‑functional partners (e.g., Product, Design, Data) to test, debug, and iterate on features so they deliver real business impact.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, with a graduation date between Winter 2026 and Spring 2027 OR less than 1 year of professional working experience as a software engineer

• A strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, with experience building meaningful software projects

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Java, TypeScript, etc.)

• Flexibility and curiosity — while many of our engineers work across the stack, including frontend, backend, and infrastructure, others specialize more deeply. We strive to match new grads with teams aligned to their interests and strengths, whether that means full-stack product development or highly technical systems work.
