Job summary

Meow in New York is seeking a Software Engineer to build full-stack web features end-to-end for a fast-moving startup. You’ll own projects from inception through launch and iteration, collaborating across the stack and with customers to refine product outcomes.

You will work with TypeScript, React, Python (FastAPI) and Postgres, applying strong fundamentals, learning new tech, and taking ownership in a high-autonomy environment with global customers.

Qualifications

• Recently graduated or graduating soon with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Strong programming fundamentals and an ability to reason through complex problems.
• Experience building software through internships, coursework, research, or personal projects.
• Comfortable learning new technologies and working across the stack. Our tech stack includes TypeScript, React, Python (FastAPI) and Postgres.
• You’ve built something outside of your required coursework because you wanted to. A side project, app, tool, open-source contribution, or anything else that demonstrates initiative.
• You take ownership, communicate clearly, and are excited to work in a fast-moving startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack web features (front-end, back-end) from zero to one.
• Comfortable with building against 3rd-party APIs and have a good mind for state machines. The financial system is one giant state machine.
• Own your work from inception to launch and beyond. We expect engineers to hop in customer channels and iterate with our customers post product-launch.
• Hold yourself accountable to high standards of quality.
