Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Missouri is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU Stepdown to provide high‑quality care for intermediate‑acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence‑based practices, and collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• BSN preferred
• Current Missouri RN license or compact license

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality care for intermediate‑acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg level.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence‑based practices.
• Perform accurate hand‑offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post‑ICU), and support recovery.
• Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit‑based quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education

Licensure

• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.

Certifications

• Required: BLS (American Heart Association).
• Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS, PCCN, or other Stepdown‑related certifications.
