Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship in St. Louis is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the ICU Stepdown team.

You will provide high-quality care for intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize outcomes. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• MO RN license (or compact) required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS/NIHSS/PCCN or other Stepdown-related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care for intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg level.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence-based practices.
• Perform accurate hand-offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.
• Administer medications and monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post‑ICU).
• Engage in huddles, governance activities, and unit-based quality improvement.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• BSN preferred.

Licensure

• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.

Certifications

• Required: BLS (American Heart Association).
• Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS, PCCN, or other Stepdown‑related certifications.
