Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking new graduate and experienced nurses for an RN to Stepdown to ICU Career Pathway. This program supports nurses through an 8–16 week residency with hands-on training, mentoring, and structured learning. New graduates are welcome, with sign-on bonuses available up to $5,000 (new grads) or up to $10,000 (experienced nurses).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with one of the following: ADN, Nursing Diploma, or BSN.
• Active RN license in Missouri or compact state eligibility.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• New graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain accountability.
• Evaluates care provided by direct care givers and coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Supports new graduates through a structured RN Residency Program (8–16 weeks) with hands-on mentoring and classroom training.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state eligibility

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire

Experience

New graduates strongly encouraged to apply

Previous hospital experience helpful but not required.

• Acute care or clinical experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Frequent standing and walking throughout shifts
