Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse to provide safe patient care using the nursing process. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with physicians on changes in condition. New graduate orientation of 8–16 weeks with a preceptor is provided.

Illinois RN license and BLS/ACLS required. Full-time, 12-hour shifts may apply; sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available for qualified candidates, with a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain.
• Basic Arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• RN-BC or similar certification; preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Direct patient care within scope of practice and guide patient/family teaching.
• Communicate with physician regarding changes in condition and diagnostic results; respond to changes quickly.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
