Job summary

  • Some travel may be required for training.

Job Summary

Join the HCA Healthcare Residency Program at Johnston‑Willis Hospital, a year‑long program designed to give you hands‑on experience and help establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills.

As a Registered Nurse Resident you will coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care, using nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” You will work with medical providers and the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition during admission and at each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and document the administration of care in the patient medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient therapeutic response, and notify the provider or intervene as appropriate in case of an unintended response.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate patient needs, and resolve them proactively.
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex terminology into understandable language.
Required Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Registered Nurse license or Graduate Nurse in the state.
  • No previous experience required.
  • Some travel may be required for training.

Shift & Availability
