Job summary

UC San Diego Health is hosting the March 2027 Nurse Residency Program Cohort for newly licensed RNs. This Magnet-designated organization offers a comprehensive transition-to-practice experience with hands-on learning and mentorship in a 13-bed mixed Medical ICU/Coronary unit.

Qualifying grads will complete provided clinical training, gain critical skills, and join a supportive team of physicians and nurses committed to excellent patient outcomes and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• California RN license by start date. Depending on applicant pool, may consider interim permits.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Licensure and certification are not required at time of application but will be required by the cohort start date of March 5, 2027.
• Must have less than six (6) months of working RN experience.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement nursing interventions across diverse patient populations.
• Serve as a resource to other members of the nursing team.
• Promote compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Build trust and professional relationships with colleagues.
