Job summary

The Clinical Nurse I (CN I) at University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is designed for new graduates or nurses with under 12 months of clinical experience. You will complete the Nurse Residency Program (if applicable) and departmental orientation to achieve practice readiness.

You will provide direct patient care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team and remain accountable to UMMS Mission, Vision, and Values.

Qualifications

• New graduate nurses or nurses with less than 12 months of clinical experience.
• Completion of Nurse Residency Program (if applicable) and departmental orientation.
• Maryland RN licensure or eligibility under Compact state agreements.
• NCLEX must be passed within 90 days of hire.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments including vital signs, pain, and behavioral status and report abnormal findings.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans incorporating patient and family preferences, cultural considerations, and developmental needs.
• Provide safe, timely, and organized patient care through efficient workflow management and clinical reasoning.
• Acknowledge and implement provider orders in a timely manner with evaluation of their relevance to patient condition.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and perform effective patient care handoffs with therapeutic education.
