Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Madison is seeking licensed new graduate nurses to participate in the SSM Health New Graduate Nurse Residency Program.

You will deliver professional nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, coordination and monitoring for patients in a fast-paced cardiovascular unit. Responsibilities include patient assessments, education, and collaborating with the care team to ensure high-quality, age-appropriate care across diverse medical conditions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized tasks to provide nursing care for patient population served.
• Performs patient assessments including biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and age-appropriate needs to develop and modify the plan of care.
• Develops and delivers patient/family education and coaching.
• Completes accurate documentation and monitors delivery of nursing care.
• Collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals regarding patient care.
• Applies evidence-based practice to nursing care based on patient age and clinical needs.
