Job summary

Prisma Health’s Nurse Residency Program is designed for new graduate nurses to build a strong foundation in a patient-centered environment at Baptist Hospital in Columbia, SC. The cohort welcomes graduates who meet the January 1, 2027 deadline and starts February 2027, with extensive clinical mentoring, quality and safety classes, and hands-on learning.

Qualifications

• Education - Associate degree in Nursing. Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend quality and core curriculum classes and professional development workshops.
• Participate in peer support groups and clinical competencies validation.
• Work under supervision of a licensed RN to manage clinical situations and documentation.
• Follow policy requirements including licensure renewal, training, infection control, and patient confidentiality.
• Document patient care accurately and communicate with the care team.
• Support unit staffing needs and participate in QI processes as required.
