Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care on our nursing units. The role involves supervising non-RN personnel, coordinating care, and acting as charge nurse as required. A BSN is preferred and CT RN licensure is required.

The RN will ensure a high level of patient-centered care, coordinate with the healthcare team, and support the educational needs of patients and families. BLS certification is required for the role.

Qualifications

  • Graduate Of An Accredited School Of Nursing; BSN Preferred.
  • Proficient In Use Of Computer Software To Include Electronic Patient Records.
  • Must Have Ability To Use Internet For Literature Searches Regarding Care For Patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses the patient’s physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis.
  • Develops, communicates and documents a plan of care reflecting patient problems and interventions.
  • Implements and coordinates the plan of care with the healthcare team.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of the plan and readiness for discharge; revises as needed.
  • Provides patient and family education and documents outcomes.
  • Precepts new staff and serves as charge nurse as needed.
  • Performs other duties to ensure smooth department operation.
  • Demonstrates competency in care of neuro patients and airway management.
