Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health in New London, CT is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department team. The RN assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care, ensuring high-quality clinical care and exemplary customer service.

You will supervise non-RN staff, participate in charge and triage roles as needed, and may cross-train to Psychiatric Emergency Services and Pequot ED. CT RN license, BLS; ACLS/PALS within 6 months; CPI within 1 year; TNCC/CEN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Connecticut RN license required.
• Previous ED experience preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 6 months; CPI within 1 year; TNCC/CEN strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient’s physical and psychosocial condition continuously across the continuum of care.
• Develops and documents a plan of care with patient, family and healthcare team.
• Implements and coordinates the care plan in collaboration with the team.
• Evaluates outcomes, readiness for discharge, and revises the plan as needed.
