Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health seeks a Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care on a nursing unit. The RN will supervise non-RN personnel, act as Charge Nurse when needed, and ensure high-quality service in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Qualifications include a nursing degree with CT RN licensure and BLS certification. Proficiency with electronic patient records and internet literature searches for patient care are required. BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Proficient in use of computer software including electronic patient records.
• Must have ability to use the Internet for literature searches regarding care for patients.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient’s physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care.
• Develops, communicates and documents a plan of care reflecting individual problems and interventions.
• Implements and coordinates the plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of the plan of care and readiness for discharge; revises plan as needed.
