Job summary

VCU Health in Richmond, VA is seeking Clinical Nurses I–III to provide direct patient care across the Acute Care Surgical Services unit. You will follow physician orders, ensure safe medication administration, and contribute to care plans while developing leadership skills within the team.

Positions require nursing licensure in Virginia or a compact state, with RN to BSN progression within policy timelines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate degree in nursing is required.
• RN license valid in Virginia or a compact state.
• All RN without a BSN must enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within 2 years and complete within 5 years.
• BSN preferred for Clin III; certification in a specialty area is favorable.

Responsibilities

• Follows physician/licensed independent provider orders.
• Practices within Virginia nursing regulations and ANA ethics.
• Provides education and leadership at unit level as needed.
• Adheres to VCUHS policies and procedures.
• Organizes work and supervises others on shift.
• Shift rotations and scheduling may be adjusted to meet unit needs.
