Job summary

Skanska USA is seeking a dynamic Estimator to join our heavy civil estimating team in Hyattsville, MD. The Estimator, working with Senior Estimators and Estimating Manager, develops accurate, timely cost estimates for bid-build, design-build, CM/GC, PPP and EPC projects, including self-perform work.

You will prepare quantity surveys, subcontractor and vendor scopes, quote analysis, and budgets, while managing risk and meeting critical deadlines both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar technical training/experience.
• 3 years of prior relevant experience.
• Practical knowledge of the job area typically obtained through advanced education plus experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, timely and detailed cost estimates for large, complex heavy civil projects (bid-build, design-build, CM/GC, PPP, EPC).
• Prepare quantity surveys, subcontractor and vendor scopes, quote analysis and estimating the cost of self-perform work.
• Meet critical deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team.

The Estimator along with the Senior Estimator, Lead Estimator and/or Estimating Manager, develops accurate, timely and detailed cost estimates on large, complex heavy civil projects for bid-build, design build, CM/GC, PPP and Engineer, Procure and Construct (EPC) projects. The Estimator supports delivery of properly organized estimates, budgets and schedules, including managing Skanska’s risk. The Estimator will be responsible for accurate quantity surveys, preparation of subcontractor and vendor work scopes, quote analysis, and estimating the cost of self-perform work. The Estimator will be a self-starter and work efficiently. The Estimator must be able to meet critical deadlines and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Estimator Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering, Construction Management or similar technical training/experience.
• 3 years prior relevant experience.
• Practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
