Job summary
Washington County is seeking an Assistant Project Engineer in West Bend to support the Project Engineer across planning, design, and construction phases of county projects.
The ideal candidate has a civil engineering or related degree with internship/experience, CAD knowledge, and a valid Wisconsin driver's license. The position offers comprehensive benefits and room for professional growth in public works.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Project Management with internship experience, or
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or related field with four years of related work experience including highway design, construction and maintenance.
- Knowledge of computer aided drafting and design (CADD) preferred.
- Some education and/or experience in project management desired.
- Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Engineer in leading a project team through planning, design, and construction phases of county projects; coordinate planning meetings and allocate funds.
- Assist with bidding, contracting, bid materials, RFPs, site showings, and contract administration.
- Facilitate land acquisitions, pre-construction conferences, coordinate construction activities, and perform inspections and documentation for quality control.
