Job summary

Waukesha County's Engineering Team is seeking a Civil Engineer to contribute to the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of transportation highway and bridge infrastructure. This role involves engineering problem solving, technical engineering application, teamwork, creativity, learning, communication, customer service and a fearless pursuit of excellence and public service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in CADD, GIS, and Civil3D.
• Strong understanding of Wisconsin DOT, AASHTO standards, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Transportation project development, design and construction.
• Project management and consultant oversight.
• Develop and conduct environmental assessments for transportation projects.
• Conduct cost estimates, traffic, and drainage studies for highway projects.
• Assist in preparing the five-year highway capital plan.
• Utilize CADD, Civil3D and GIS for engineering computations and designs.
• Prepare detailed reports, roadway plans, right-of-way plats, and specs.
• Transportation project utility coordination.
• Use traffic data and tools for safety and design decisions.
• Prepare and administer highway and bridge construction contracts.
