Job summary

My team at Advanta is growing, and I’m looking for a leader to drive how we bring genome editing into our breeding programs.

This role sits where gene editing meets real-world crop improvement. You’ll build a pipeline that develops, validates and deploys editing technologies and you’ll work with external partners to bring the best science into our pipelines, turning advances into better varieties for growers.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the development and application of genome editing platforms (CRISPR and next-generation tools)
• Evaluate and manage external partners, including technology providers, academic collaborators, and vendors
• Move edited traits from discovery through to breeding pipelines
• Manage projects, timelines, and priorities across research and breeding teams
• Partner with breeders, data scientists, and regulatory colleagues

What I’m looking for:

• Deep experience in genome editing, plant molecular biology, or a related field
• Industry experience strongly preferred
• A track record of leading projects and delivering technology into practice
• Experience assessing and managing external collaborations
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
