Job summary

Brown University Health seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to support Neurointerventional Radiology and Vascular Neurology services at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. The APP will manage a caseload across the care continuum, educate and coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team, and participate in hyperacute stroke care and NIR procedures.

The role requires MS degree with NP or PA certification, BLS and ACLS, and 1–2 years of acute-care APP experience.

Qualifications

Masters of Science Degree; graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
BLS and ACLS certification; NP specialty certification required
Baccalaureate in Nursing

Responsibilities

Demonstrates fundamental knowledge in the field.
Manages a caseload of patients with the healthcare team to optimize health status across settings.
Oversees care coordination in acute, home, and ambulatory settings as feasible.
Provides direct care to patients in acute care settings under supervision.
Assists in hyper-acute MRI and neurointerventional procedures as needed.
Rounds with vascular neurology team; documents progress notes and discharge summaries.
Educates and mentors healthcare providers; coordinates patient/family education.
