Job summary

The Neurovascular Sonographer I at Medical University of South Carolina reports to the Neurovascular Lab Coordinator and supports the Clinical Neurophysiology Services department to achieve clinical and quality goals, improve operational efficiency, and meet department targets. Graduation from an accredited vascular ultrasound program is required, as is RVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI) certification, and at least 1 year of vascular ultrasound experience.

BLS certification is also required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program of vascular technology.
• Registered RVT by ARDMS or RVS by CCI and must be maintained.
• Minimum of 1 year of vascular ultrasound experience.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Support the Neurovascular Lab operations and Clinical Neurophysiology Services goals, including quality, efficiency and patient care.

Job Description

The Neurovascular Sonographer I reports to the Neurovascular Lab Coordinator. Under limited supervision the Neurovascular Sonographer I supports the Clinical Neurophysiology Services department, ICE and Medical Center goals. Goals include achievement of clinical and quality measures, operational efficiency, financial targets as well as population/age specific needs of the department.

Additional Job Description

Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program of Vascular technology or the equivalent and registered as an RVT by ARDMS or as RVS by CCI is required and must be maintained. One year of Vascular Ultrasound work experience is required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
