  • Develop catheter designs, components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Perform hands-on prototyping and bench testing.
  • Develop and evaluate catheter performance, trackability, pushability, torque response, flexibility, kink resistance, dimensional characteristics, and other relevant performance attributes.
  • Work with tubing, braiding, mandrels, liners, jackets, coatings, markers, adhesives, and other catheter components.
  • Develop catheter assembly processes and manufacturing methods.
  • Work directly with manufacturing engineering and technicians to transition prototypes into production.
  • Identify and solve design and manufacturing problems.
  • Develop engineering specifications, drawings, protocols, reports, and design documentation.
  • Support verification and validation activities.

  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
  • Contribute to the development of Galaxy's internal R&D and manufacturing capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5–10 years of relevant medical-device R&D experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience designing and developing neurovascular microcatheters.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience with intracranial/neurovascular catheter systems.
  • Strong understanding of catheter construction and manufacturing.
  • Experience in an FDA/ISO 13485-regulated environment.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
Required Skills

A hands-on catheter engineer who can design a component in the morning, build and troubleshoot a prototype in the afternoon, and work with manufacturing to solve a production problem the next day.

Preferred Skills
