Position Overview
Riverside Medical Group is seeking a Part‑Time dedicated and highly motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our expanding Neurovascular Services team at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside neurointerventional physicians, vascular neurologists, neurosurgeons, and a collaborative multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional cerebrovascular care.
Salary range: $125,000.00 to $155,000.00 (actual pay depends on specialty, experience, and performance).
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including histories and physical examinations.
- Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic neurovascular conditions.
- Collaborate with supervising physicians to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Provide inpatient consultations, rounding, and follow‑up care.
- Conduct outpatient clinic visits, including post‑procedure and long‑term follow‑up appointments.
- Assist in the management of patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic neurointerventional procedures.
- Interpret diagnostic testing and laboratory results and formulate clinical recommendations.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, and preventive care.
- Coordinate patient care across multiple specialties and services.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, stroke program development, and clinical pathway optimization.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital, medical group, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner candidates: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program; Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Nursing.
- Physician Assistant candidates: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Licensure & certifications: Current Virginia licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant; National certification appropriate to specialty; DEA registration or eligibility; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Preferred experience in Neurology, Stroke care, Neurosurgery, Critical care, Neurointerventional Radiology, or Vascular medicine.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking abilities, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Schedule and Coverage
Part‑time position combining outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, and consultation responsibilities. Participation in call coverage based on departmental needs.
