Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a Neurosurgery Spine Service spanning Stamford, Trumbull, and Greenwich. The role combines ambulatory clinic and operating room responsibilities in a four-day work week with no weekends, nights, or holidays, supporting a collaborative neurosurgical team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Eligible for Connecticut licensure and certification.
• New graduates are welcome to apply; neurosurgery/spine experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Care: The NP/PA provides assessment, triage, and therapeutic management as part of an interdisciplinary team, in inpatient, ambulatory, or outpatient settings, following state and hospital guidelines.
• Patient Education & Psychosocial Support: Educates patients and families on care, discharge plans, and available resources, offering compassionate support.
• Information Management: Documents care according to hospital and regulatory requirements, protecting information across all media.
• Quality Management: Maintains professional standards, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and supports safety initiatives.
• Professional Development: Pursues ongoing education, mentors others, and participates in quality improvement and research activities.
