Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network in Cooperstown, NY seeks a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Neurosurgery team. You will work with 2 Surgeons and 2 Advanced Practice Clinicians, handle clinic patients, post-op visits, telemedicine, floor management, and assist in the OR.

No dedicated neurosurgery call; general surgery call optional. Requirements include NY license or eligibility, national certification as PA/NP, BLS, and DEA.

Qualifications

• Must hold National Certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• New York medical license or eligibility to obtain.
• BLS Certification and DEA requirement.

Responsibilities

• Join an established group of 2 Surgeons and 2 Advanced Practice Clinicians.
• Clinic with new and established patients, post-op visits, telemedicine.
• Floor management of post-op patients and first assisting in the OR.
• No Neurosurgery call – General Surgical call is optional.
• Strong teaching relationship with university medical centers.

Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in Central New York and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the Department of Neurosurgery.

• Salary Range: $142,809 - $186,000
• Sign-on Bonus: up to $75,000
• Location: Cooperstown, NY

Job Description & Responsibilities

• Join an established group of 2 Surgeons and 2 Advanced Practice Clinicians
• Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region
• Responsibilities include clinic where you will see new and established patients, post-op visits, telemedicine, floor management of post-op patients, and first assisting in the OR
• No Neurosurgery call – General Surgical call is optional
• The Neurosurgery team- Bassett Medical Center has a strong relationship with the University of Rochester Medical Center and Columbia University for teaching, education, and resident involvement.
• Previous surgical experience preferred but not essential
• Hours include but not limited to: Clinic hours typically run from 8:00-4:30, and OR days are variable with two-to-three occurrences per week.

Compensation

• Salary Range: $142,809 - $186,000
  • This compensation range represents Bassett's good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
