Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide inpatient consult coverage and serve as a first assist in the operating room as part of a collaborative neurosurgery team at Rochester General Hospital. Per Diem status with responsibilities spanning patient interaction, documentation, and critical care orders.

The role requires a BS in Physician Assistant studies, NCCPA certification, and NY licensure eligibility, with the neurosurgery department directing daily activities

Qualifications

• BS: Physician Assistant (Required).
• PA-C certification (NCCPA).
• Licensed or eligible to practice in NY (RPA).

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and families, medical/social/public service teams, and payor agencies to support patient satisfaction.
• Communicate empathetically, gather information, educate and coordinate care.
• Prescribe medications, write orders, perform procedures, and respond to emergencies for acute patients.
• Document complete patient histories, physical exams, and develop a treatment plan for assigned patients.
