Job summary

Medlivo Inc. is seeking a Physician Assistant specialized in Neurosurgery for a local contract position in Redding, CA. This 13-week assignment runs 40 hours per week, days shift, with an inpatient Neurosurgery service and Cerner EMR.

Coverage is available through December 2027 due to provider shortage; privileges are temporary/emergency. The successful candidate will round on patients, evaluate consults, and coordinate care with the on-call neurosurgeon.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Round on and evaluate neurosurgery patients.
• Evaluate new neurosurgical consults.
• Coordinate patient care with the neurosurgeon on call.
• Write daily progress notes, consult notes, discharge instructions and summaries.
• Order and coordinate patient care as appropriate.
• Remove and manage surgical/neurological drains.
• Communicate changes in neurological status or care plans to the neurosurgeon.
• Coordinate with nursing, case management, social work and other providers.
• Communicate treatment plans and updates with patients and families.
