Job summary

Dignity Health’s Chandler Regional Medical Center is seeking a Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner to deliver patient‑centered care in collaboration with the neurosurgery team. You will assess patients, order diagnostics, establish diagnoses, and manage treatment plans for common illnesses and acute conditions in high‑acuity settings.

You’ll work in a multidisciplinary environment, participate in quality initiatives, and provide care across admission, transfer, and discharge processes as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid AZ RN license and NP certification.
  • Credentialing with CRMC and MGMC is required.
  • Hold current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Take patient histories and perform physical examinations for neurosurgery patients.
  • Order tests, establish diagnoses, and manage common illnesses and prevention.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for patient‑centered plans.
  • Facilitate admissions, transfers, discharges, and referrals to specialists.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner, responsible for delivering care to patients admitted to Neurosurgery at Chandler Regional Medical Center in collaboration with the physician/medical director, you will assume clinical responsibility for tasks performed within your scope of practice. This includes taking patient's history, performing physical examinations, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, establishing diagnosis, and providing care and management for common illnesses and disease prevention.

As our Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner, responsible for delivering care to patients admitted to Neurosurgery at Chandler Regional Medical Center in collaboration with the physician/medical director, you will assume clinical responsibility for tasks performed within your scope of practice. This includes taking patient's history, performing physical examinations, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, establishing diagnosis, and providing care and management for common illnesses and disease prevention. Every day, you may assist with patient admission, transfer, or discharge. You will make appropriate referrals to specialists and community agencies, and participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop patient‑centered plans. In addition to routine duties, you will provide care and management for acutely ill patients, respond to emergency situations, and may see patients in intensive care units or other high‑acuity settings. To be successful in your role, you will strategically deliver comprehensive, specialized patient care, assuming clinical responsibility for assessing, diagnosing, and managing common illnesses and acute conditions, often in critical care settings. You will demonstrate exceptional clinical expertise in performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, and collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to develop patient‑centered plans, while actively participating in quality assurance and ensuring appropriate referrals and care management.

  • Completes hospital and department documentation legibly, accurately and within designated timeframe.
  • Works in collaboration with sponsoring physician, case management and staff nurses to provide patient care.
  • Complies with legal restrictions regarding lines of authority, supervision and communication.
  • Acts as a liaison between physicians, nursing departments, ancillary staff on behalf of patients and their families.
Required
Job Requirements
  • Masters Degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • Three (3) years clinical experience
  • Registered Nurse: AZ
  • Registered Nurse Practitioner: AZ
  • Nurse Practitioner - AANPCP
  • Credentialed as allied health professional with CRMC and MGMC
  • DEA Drug Enforcement Administration-Control Sub Reg Cert: AZ
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Preferred
  • One (1) year of experience as Neurosurgery NP
  • CNRN - Certified Neuroscience RN
  • CCRN - Critical Care RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute

$113,900 - $187,928.00/hour
