Job summary

MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join its neuroscience team in a hybrid role spanning neurosurgery and neuroendovascular services. The position offers OR first‑assisting, IR suite procedures, inpatient care, and outpatient clinic exposure within one role.

Both new graduates and experienced APPs are encouraged to apply, with structured mentorship and onboarding provided to support a successful transition.

Qualifications

• Current certification/licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP).
• RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) certification required for Nurse Practitioners.
• Prior neuroscience or first‑assist experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• First assist in the OR for spine and cranial procedures
• Assist in the Neurovascular IR suite – thrombectomies, diagnostic and interventional spinal and cerebral angiograms
• Perform bedside procedures, including EVD and SEPS placement
• Round on inpatient post‑op patients
• Provide ED and inpatient consults
• See patients in outpatient clinic
