Job summary

Missouri Baptist Medical Center is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant with experience to support Neurosurgery in Creve Coeur. The role involves preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, performing phlebotomy and EKGs, and assisting providers with exams and procedures.

This position offers a daytime schedule with no on-call requirements. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, 2–5 years of Medical Assistant experience, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of medical assisting experience preferred.
• CPR certification (or equivalent) required/preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, prepares and stocks supplies in exam rooms.
• Obtains vital signs, patient history and maintains charting in the patient’s record.
• Performs clinical skills such as phlebotomy, electrocardiography (EKGs), point-of-care testing and injections.
• Triage calls, provides test and lab results to patients and presents information to provider with correct medical terminology.
• Assists specialty provider by preparing patients for exams, procedures and treatments; explains procedures and medications.
