Job summary

University of Washington Health System is seeking an Inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) for the Neurological Surgery Clinic at UW Medical Center-Montlake in Seattle. The role includes rounds, daily patient management, and care coordination across services, with opportunities for teaching and research involvement.

The position offers a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule, 12-hour and 10-hour day shifts, and a weekend premium.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Washington ARNP or PA licensure.
• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• DEA prescriptive authority.
• BLS
• ACLS
• Previous neurosurgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in daily rounds.
• Evaluates and manages patients and writes daily progress notes.
• Formulates and implements care plans.
• Coordinates patient care with services like endocrinology, internal medicine, neurology, ENT, ID.
• May perform procedures such as lumbar punctures and drain placements.
• Attends monthly Quality Improvement meetings and participates in QI projects.
• Mentors APP students and interns.
• Attends team educational conferences.
