Job summary

BAS Healthcare, Inc. is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join a busy neurosurgical service line in Bridgeport, CT. You will work alongside expert neurosurgeons and experienced APPs, handling intake H&Ps, postoperative care, and in-hospital evaluations.

The role requires First Assist certification and board credentialing for PA or NP. Day and night shifts rotate across a 24/7 coverage model, with opportunities for professional development and involvement in neuroendovascular cases.

Responsibilities

• Join a 24/7 APP-driven neurosurgical service line.
• Manage neurosurgical spine and cranial patients in ICU and inpatient floors.
• Perform intake H&Ps, progress notes, consultations, postoperative management, discharge planning.
• Provide neurosurgical evaluations across the hospital, including Emergency Department.
• First assist in operating room for cranial and spine procedures (emergent and elective).
• Participate in interventional radiology coverage for neuroendovascular cases.

Job Details:

• Join a 24/7 APP-driven neurosurgical service line at a dynamic, high-performing Advanced Practice team
• Manage neurosurgical spine and cranial patients in both the ICU and inpatient floor settings
• Perform comprehensive clinical responsibilities including intake H&Ps, progress notes, consultations, postoperative management, and discharge planning
• Provide neurosurgical evaluations throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department
• First assist in the operating room for a wide range of emergent and elective cranial and spine procedures
• Participate in interventional radiology coverage for neuroendovascular cases
• Support the full scope of emergency and elective neurosurgical care across the service line
• Practice with a high level of autonomy while being fully supported by a collaborative team of expert neurosurgeons and experienced APPs
• Day shift: 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Night shift: 6:00 PM - 7:00 AM; Monday through Sunday
• Schedule includes a rotation of days, nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a collaborative 24/7 APP coverage model
• Additional clinical and coverage opportunities may be available based on departmental needs
