Job summary

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Physician Assistant or Acute Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to support the Neurosurgery department at UPMC Mercy. The schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts covering seven days a week.

As a key member of our inpatient APP team, you will work with residents and attending neurosurgeons to provide high-quality care to complex neurosurgical patients across all levels of care within the hospital.

Qualifications

• Licensed PA or CRNP in Pennsylvania with current CPR certification.
• Experience in neurosurgery or acute care settings preferred.
• Ability to work in a high-acuity trauma center and collaborate with physicians.

Responsibilities

• Manage neurosurgical patients across all stages of care (pre-, post-, ICU, rehab).
• Conduct neurosurgical consults with the team to guide plans.
• Collaborate with residents, attendings and staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in rounds, document care plans, and develop individualized treatments.
• Maintain focus on patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
