Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a Biomedical Engineer to provide technical support for equipment in the Open Heart Surgery suites, CSICU and other critical care units. You will set up, maintain and repair devices, render technical advice to surgeons and OR staff, and ensure electrical safety for patients and staff.

Responsibilities include maintaining monitoring equipment, coordinating with vendors and BIMC Engineering, ordering parts, training staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualificações

• Associates degree required; higher preferred. Basic knowledge of anatomy/physiology and medical electronics training; certification from AAMI or similar is highly preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of diversified experience in medical electronics with exposure to Heart/Lung and/or Balloon Pump technology or closely related training.

Responsabilidades

• Maintains patient care monitoring equipment including intra-aortic balloon pump and other instrumentation.
• Informs Biomedical Engineering about defective equipment and participates in repair and maintenance.
• Orders necessary parts, accessories, and supplies for related equipment.
• Interacts with external vendors and BIMC Engineering regarding maintenance, repairs, and coordination.
• Ensures electrical safety and performance through checks and preventive maintenance with proper documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Trains staff for cross-coverage within the Biomedical Engineering Department.
• Other duties as assigned.
