Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant I + Clerical (Clinical Support Tech I - Per Diem) for the Acute Neuroscience Unit (8 ANU). The role combines nursing assistant tasks with health unit coordination in a 26-bed unit serving Neurosurgery and Neurology patients, including an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.

The position requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and NC Nurse Aide I Registry. Per diem shifts are 12 hours, day/night rotation, with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English language.

Responsibilities

• Assists in delivery of patient care and transports patients/equipment.
• Reviews patient care documentation and reports changes to RN/physician.
• Performs clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, transcribe orders, maintain medical records.
• Provides clinical support: clean work area, maintain equipment, restock supplies, transport patients/supplies.
• Provide direct personal care per care plan (bathing, feeding, ambulation) and record vitals.
• Reinforce patient teaching and distribute education materials.
