Job summary

Banner University Medical Group in Glendale, AZ, seeks a Surgery Scheduler for our high-volume Neuroscience Clinic to coordinate elective and urgent procedures, enter patient charges and orders, and liaise with physicians and families.

The role supports a positive, patient-focused environment with daily schedule management, confidentiality, and data reporting; schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with opportunities for growth within the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of medical clerical experience preferred, hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling ideal.
• Knowledge of medical terminology essential.
• Understanding of payor contract terms helpful.
• Strong organizational, communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate case times for elective, urgent or emergent surgeries in a computerized system.
• Enter physician orders, charges and patient information; compile reports for management.
• Greet patients and families, answer questions and relay information between staff and physicians.
• Maintain confidentiality and support smooth workflow in the scheduling area.
• Schedule and manage physician block time and related documentation.
• Assist with supply and facility work orders as needed.
