Job summary

The Harvard Medical School Neurobiology Yellen lab is seeking a Research Technician to study neuronal metabolism and its relation to activity and excitability. The role includes mouse colony management, molecular biology work, and tissue culture, with opportunities to contribute to biosensor development.

Strong organizational skills and good problem-solving are essential; some experience with mice is preferred, and training will be provided for specific procedures.

Qualifications

• At least one year of related work experience.
• College background or equivalent work experience in biology.
• Familiarity with plasmids, vectors, and subcloning.
• Some experience with mice preferred.
• Attention to detail and good problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Manage a moderate size mouse colony, including genotyping and surgeries.
• Perform molecular biology procedures and fluorescence analysis.
• Tissue culture and transfection.
• Potential to contribute to biosensor development and imaging projects.
