Job summary

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is seeking a Research Science Associate I or II to support engineering and scientific research within the Neuroscience Development & Regenerative Biology program. The RSA I operates with limited supervision on entry-level tasks; RSA II offers leadership, design and data analysis, and opportunities to disseminate knowledge through scholarship.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, Vocational Training, or Apprenticeship in a related field.
• One to three years of related experience; additional education may substitute for experience on a one-for-one basis.
• Ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional research and engineering assignments to include experiments, data gathering/analysis, and operating equipment.
• Assist with lab inventory upkeep, orders, and compliance procedures.
• Performs specified phases of research projects, records observations, compiles data, and writes technical reports.
• Trains incoming and existing students on experimental procedures and edits papers for journals or classes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
