Job summary

LSU Health Sciences Center Neuroscience Center seeks a Research Associate 1, 2, or 3 to study aging, synaptic development, and neurodegeneration using Drosophila, cell culture, and mouse models. Under the PI, you will contribute to day-to-day lab operations and pursue independent and collaborative projects.

Candidates should have a strong background in biological sciences; prior mammalian cell culture and mouse model experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience or related field.
• Experience in a laboratory setting.
• RA1: 1 year of experience; RA2: 3 years; RA3: 5+ years.
• A Master’s degree may substitute for 3 years; PhD may substitute for 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day laboratory operations.
• Conduct independent and collaborative research projects.
• Mentor and train undergraduate students.
