Job summary

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. (HJF) seeks a Research Assistant II to support the NeuroTrauma Department's TBI research program at NMRC in Silver Spring, MD.

The role provides lab and technical support, conducting standard- complexity research in neuroscience and molecular biology. Responsibilities include performing molecular techniques, maintaining data, and assisting with reports and presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, neuroscience or related field required.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant research experience.
• Knowledge of neuroscience and cellular/molecular biology techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing scientific research on TBI and related areas.
• Perform laboratory research using histology, PCR, ELISA and related methods.
• Maintain and manage research databases with careful data entry.
• Collect, organize and observe data from experiments.
• Prepare reports, publications and presentations as needed.
• Train junior staff and share standard operating procedures.
