Job summary

Memorial Regional Medical Center in Virginia seeks a Neuroscience Program Coordinator who is a registered nurse with clinical neuroscience expertise. The role develops and implements processes to improve patient care, care coordination, and community outreach in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and service line leadership.

The Program Manager will oversee operations at the facility and lead neuroscience diagnostics, regulatory compliance, and staff development across the unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required from an accredited school of Nursing; Master's degree preferred and licensed in Virginia.
• Five to Seven years required; Ten to Fifteen years' experience preferred in neuroscience, healthcare research, quality/performance improvement, data acquisition/analysis.
• Current CPR and NIHSS certifications.
• Certification in neuroscience or related area preferred or aligned with service line growth.
• Knowledge of regulatory and certifying bodies for neuroscience programs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Proficient with Audiovisual equipment.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical abilities for planning and evaluation.
• Experience communicating complex concepts to healthcare members; presenting educational programs.
• Group facilitation, problem solving, and analytical skills.
• Director/Manager experience preferred (min 5 years).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless inpatient stay and transitions to outpatient resources.
• Bridge patients and families to neuroscience services across the care continuum.
• Oversee regulatory compliance for Neuroscience at the unit and co-chair the Neuroscience operations team.
• Provide clinical leadership for neuroscience operations and nursing practice.
• Direct nurses for planning, implementation, protocol compliance and outcomes reporting.
• Develop and lead education for Medical staff and unit on stroke certification and standards.
