Job summary

The Transmitter, funded by the Simons Foundation, offers an enthusiastic science reporting internship in New York City for spring 2027. This paid program requires a 32-hour-per-week minimum and provides exposure to reporting neuroscience for an audience of scientists.

You will learn to report and write articles educating, challenging, and inspiring readers, with a background in neuroscience, genetics, cognition and behavior encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a scientific discipline.
• Graduate journalism coursework preferred.
• A background or strong interest in neuroscience, genetics, cognition and behavior.
• Must be familiar with and adhere to journalistic ethics.

Responsibilities

• Pitch, report and write news articles for The Transmitter.
• Perform other duties or tasks as assigned or required.
