Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking a motivated Lab Technician 1 or 2 or Laboratory Specialist for Dr. Chia‑Yi (Alex) Kuan's lab. Responsibilities include conducting experiments, managing the mouse colony, and assisting with lab tasks. The successful candidate will have strong written communication and problem-solving skills.

This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $17 to $22, depending on experience. It requires an Associate's degree and 2+ years of lab experience. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of lab experience, including student experience.
• Ability to learn new laboratory techniques and skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mouse surgery and laboratory management tasks.
• Perform immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting analysis.
• Assist with PCR-based genotyping and ordering lab supplies.
